Small square, Liberec

The implementation project for the revitalization of Malé náměstí in Liberec addresses the restoration of a public space on the edge of the city’s historic center. The square, which once served as a bustling marketplace, now functions primarily as a parking lot and has a generally disjointed appearance. The dominant feature of the space is the Baroque Church of the Holy Cross, part of the Via Sacra pilgrimage route, with an adjacent neglected park and garden housing a plague column and a chapel that is mostly inaccessible to the public. The space is further fragmented by a road running in front of the church.
