ALONG THE CITY WALLS

The project addresses the transformation of the northern foothills of Prague Castle, an area currently fragmented by traffic barriers, fenced-off compounds, and unused residual spaces. The aim of the design is to reintegrate the historic rampart belt into the city’s current structure, eliminate its isolation, and transform it into a vibrant part of the broader center of Prague. The design works with the historical layers of the area, enhances its accessibility, and restores its meaningful purpose through high-quality public space and landscape elements. The ramparts thus cease to be a symbol of separation and become a space for gathering, movement, and a new relationship between the city, the landscape, and Prague Castle.
