SECOND LIFE PULL - Conversion of a Former Slaughterhouse Complex

The project focuses on the conversion of a former slaughterhouse complex from 1930 in Hradec Králové into an arts and workshop center. The proposal preserves the industrial character of the building while introducing a new cultural and social function. The concept is based on the principle of “reuse”, emphasizing the repeated use of materials, products, and structural elements, reflected both in the workshops and in the reconstruction process itself. The complex is designed as an open creative environment connecting craft workshops, public spaces, and the presentation of creative work. The project transforms the originally closed industrial site into a vibrant center responding to contemporary environmental and social challenges.
