New Farmstead– Equestrian Center Meierhof
Annotation
The design for the new equestrian complex is situated on the site of a former farmstead. It respects the site’s original footprint, thereby restoring its agricultural function. The volumetric design is based on historical vedutas and postcards, which served as a basis for interpreting the original character of the buildings. The design does not aim for a literal reconstruction, but rather a contemporary architectural reinterpretation that builds on the historical structure of the site. The complex consists of stables,a guesthouse, and a U-shaped barn, complemented by a wooden riding hall enclosing the central courtyard. The facility offers horse stabling, outdoor and indoor riding areas,a round pen, paddocks, and exercise yards. It also includes a guesthouse, residential units, and facilities for riders.
