Edible campus

The vertical construction system uses the potential of the blind facades of buildings on the CTU campus to grow fresh vegetables for canteens and students. The modular garden made of scaffolding and recycled materials creates a sustainable system that uses organic waste from local canteens. The project brings local raw produce, supports biodiversity, captures rainwater, regulates the temperature of buildings and reduces noise and traffic emissions. The construction requires a minimum built-up area and the structure can be adapted to different facades. The project also includes the possibility of involving students and professors, who will gain a direct relationship with the cultivation and origin of food. The system can also be used in housing estates or schools as a community garden.
