Novohradské hory: Landscape Concept

The Novohradské hory are a landscape of thresholds. Between Bohemia and Austria, between nature and the memory of former settlement, between a landscape abandoned and a landscape full of potential. Shaped by a hilly relief, dense forests, and an intricate network of spring areas and watercourses, the territory carries within it the traces of post-war transformation alongside remarkable natural richness. The aim of the project is a conceptual framework for this complex territory — through detailed analysis of natural conditions, historical development, and current land use, it formulates a vision and spatial concept that seeks a balance between the protection of existing values, the preservation of the cultural memory of the place, and the possibilities of its careful renewal.
