In the Footsteps of Hunters

Why do paths run the way they do? These are questions people may no longer ask, but isn’t that a shame? Wouldn’t it be interesting to know which path we walk, who created it and why? My project responds to these questions. In the deep and mysterious forests of the Novohradské Mountains, the paths are not random. They carry the memory of the Buquoy family, who significantly shaped this landscape. They were behind most forest paths – hunting trails. Hunting was not only a pastime for them, but a prestigious social event for distinguished guests. Over time, these hunting trails became ordinary paths. Some disappeared, others remained, but their history gradually faded. My project brings it back, revealing stories hidden in the landscape. Will you join me on their traces?
