The Maniny Pier

The pier design in Prague's Holešovice responds to the underutilization of the river's recreational potential. It consists of detachable concrete segments with a subtle wooden structure, each serving a different function. The most prominent is the open-air cinema segment with a foil roof, auditorium, and a bistro underneath. Another segment serves as the main entrance, designed as a promenade sheltered by wooden columns and a canvas roof. The next part features a swimming pool with changing rooms, allowing visitors to swim either in treated water—inspired by badeschiffs—or directly in the river. The final segment functions as a sun deck for relaxation.
