Transformation of the Housing Estate: Olbersdorf

The main objective of the study is to transform a rigid mining settlement into a sustainable urban neighborhood that naturally integrates the human scale into the rural setting at the foot of the mountains. The design moves away from an anonymous modernist space and establishes a clear hierarchy. Furthermore, the concept supports the potential of the local center and connects to the recreational region of Lake Olbersdorfer See, thereby promoting sustainable tourism and integrating new services.
