Fragments of Štvanice
Annotation
Štvanice Island is one of the largest islands in Prague. It is an island dominated by tennis, while Fuchs remains only as a relic and memorial of the former ice stadium. However, the new HolKa footbridge has brought many new visitors from the surrounding areas to Štvanice Island and has significantly improved the island’s accessibility overall.
The aim of the proposal is to make the island more attractive and accessible while preserving its genius loci. Diversifying sports activities and adding cultural and recreational functions will make the island welcoming to all age groups. All of this is supported by a circular route and a clear central axis of the island, connecting everything into one cohesive whole and preventing fragmentation.
