Annotation

Courtyard plus courtyard equals courtyard. Today a municipal library, tomorrow the city’s creative hub – a place where ideas are created across generations, upstairs and downstairs, front and back. The proposal builds on the building’s spatial generosity as well as its detachment from the ground, the park, and the surrounding city. By connecting the two existing atriums, a single shared courtyard emerges, becoming the new heart of the building and its public life. We open the building towards the park, activate the ground floor, and strengthen the visual connectivity between its levels. A closed institution is transformed into an open, permeable house for creativity, encounters, and shared energy.
