ON THE PORCH ON A HOUSING ESTATE
Annotation
The weather was nice today, so during art class we moved our tables outside into the courtyard. But now it’s time to bring everything back inside. I’m carrying paintbrushes and walking down the hallway to the classroom, on the way I run into my friend, rushing off to drama class. I change into my outdoor shoes and head down the stairs toward the café. Through the glass facade, I spot my dad chatting with a neighbor on the porch, I think they take sewing classes together one floor below. The three of us then make our way to the building’s living room on the third floor. We’re going to say hi to my brother. He’s tucked away in the quiet study room, his finals are only a week away. On the way, I look at the art on display and look forward to the day something of mine will be hanging there.
