The project focuses on making gardening accessible to the residents of Seestadt, while also promoting intensive urban gardening that makes efficient use of the vast area of the former factory site. The main idea is to redirect production towards sustainability – from automobile manufacturing to food cultivation. From the former industrial complex, we retained the principle of efficient factory operation, expressed through vertical greenhouses incorporating various cultivation methods. In addition, we introduced a marketplace along the main pedestrian axis leading from the proposed metro station, a hostel, smaller-scale recreational garden plots, and supporting facilities for visitors. The project brings together production, education, recreation, and community life into a functional whole.
