A clear and solid house. An atrium pavilion referencing the time-tested concept of the cloister and the paradise courtyard, which has a positive effect on the human psyche and, in the case of a healthcare facility, on the mind and health of the patient and their family. The layout concept of a central courtyard clarifies and enriches the building's operation: corridors become spaces for communal encounters, dining rooms and living areas are easily cross-ventilated. Contact with the outdoors is the main theme of the room layout as well. The aim is to allow bedridden patients to be wheeled out onto the loggia, and to provide varied settings for visits from loved ones.
