Specification of deadlines for submission and defense of diploma projects

The final state examination consists of state exams from subject blocks and defense of the diploma project.

DIPLOMA PROJECT

The diploma project is an architectural or urban project or theoretical work.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

Only a student who has successfully passed the state exams Architecture and Urbanism and Building Economics and Management and has earned at least 92 credits can enroll in the diploma project.

The exact diploma project assignment will be elaborated by the diploma leader together with the student no later than two weeks after the beginning of the semester and submitted to the Dean of FA for approval. A part of the assignment is to determine the scope of work. The theoretical diploma project is defined by a basic thesis and the way and scope of its scientific process. The topic of the diploma project can be assigned to the student one year before its planned start in the diploma seminar course.

CONDITIONS FOR THE DEFENSE OF DIPLOMA PROJECT

  • successful completion of all state exams from all subject blocks 
  • elaboration of the diploma project within the deadlines set by the academic year schedule
  • diploma project assessment by the diploma leader and one opponent (practitioner) that is proposed by the diploma leader 
  • completion of the required 120 credits of the study program

  • architecture and urbanism - History of Architecture III/IV, Urbanism IV - Design, Planning I - Urban Planning, Building Theory V

  • building economics & management - Economics, Building Technology and Management II, Law

REGISTRATION FOR THE STATE EXAM

By the deadline set by the academic year schedule, the student submits a written application to the study department with regard to the announced terms, which are listed in the KOS for the given semester. In the third week of the selected semester, these terms will be opened in the KOS component for enrollment.

The student can opt out of the term for which he / she applied only for serious reasons. Only a single State Exam can be passed per day.

If a student fails to attend the exam  in the term in whih he / she has enrolled without a proper excuse, he / she is graded "F" (insufficient).
