On 16–17 April 2026, the Faculty of Architecture at CTU in Prague will host the international meeting Deans’ Summit Prague 2026, bringing together deans and representatives of schools of architecture from across Europe.
The main theme of this year’s summit is “Back to Basics: Rethinking Curriculum through Making”, focusing on new approaches to architectural education through hands-on creation, working with materials, and strengthening the connection between education and practice.
The programme will feature keynote lectures, thematic discussions, and round tables exploring transformations in architectural curricula and the role of design-build approaches in teaching. It will also include a creative design-build session, networking activities, and a social programme including a faculty tour and a joint dinner.
Among the invited guests is keynote speaker Erik Sommerfeld from the University of Colorado Denver, who focuses on innovative approaches to architectural education. The programme will also feature Vera Kaps from ETH Zürich with her talk “ETH Curriculum Change as Participatory Process” and Martial Marquet from Martial Marquet Studio, who will present a design-build happening exploring experimental approaches to architectural education.
