REUSE-HYBRID - Reception Centre for Parents with Kids

The design of the Shelter House for Parents with Children is located within an inner courtyard in Pragues Žižkov district, where the Biskupcova garages currently stand. The proposal also includes underground parking to reduce the number of cars in the adjacent streets. A distinctive feature of the Shelter House, as the above-ground part of the building, is the system of vertical blocks with staircases, which frame and define the residential part of the building with individual apartments, unified by external galleries. These galleries are intended as places where residents can meet, relax, and get to know others in similar life situations. To support the integration of residents into society, a public dining hall is located on the ground floor, where residents can assist. The aim of the design is to provide temporary accommodation that balances privacy with opportunities for social interaction.
