FUNERAL CEREMONY HALL AND CEMETERY EXTENSION IN OSTRAVA SVINOV

The topic of this project is an extension to a cemetery and a design of a ceremonial hall in Ostrava Svinov. The work is based on the intent of two city districts of Ostrava: Svinov and Poruba, to extend the Svinov cemetery to cater for both of the districts. The main aim of the design was to create a space for a dignified funeral ceremony that would allow the bereaved to accompany the deceased from the ceremonial hall to the burial site. The project of the new ceremonial hall connects it to an existing cemetery path, it hides the technical facilities in the slope of the terrain of the cemetery and thus enables a natural passage from the hall to the cemetery
