Final projects
CHILD MENTAL HEALTH CENTRE, PRAGUE
Architecture and Urbanism, MA diploma project
Annotation
The project for the Children's and Adolescents' Mental Health Center is based on the idea that children should also receive the help they deserve in adequately dignified spaces. It is during this initial phase of life that a person forms their personality. The aim of this work is to open a discussion on the issue of the lack of spaces for mental health treatment and to offer an example of a solution. The design incorporates a new typology of the facility and embodies a safe and peaceful environment for treatment and therapy. It addresses the need for destigmatization by establishing a prominent place in a residential district and contributes to the cultivation of the area. The diploma project focuses on the proper arrangement of the necessary connections between therapy rooms, outpatient clinics in contrast to the administrative spaces of the center. It supplements the essential functions with a gym, special therapy, and a connection to the garden. The goal is to show how space can play a role in healthcare and to offer a modern, sustainable architectural perspective on the issue.
