OXIDES

The OXIDES project revitalizes the industrial mining heritage of Mayrau, Czech Republic, with workshops in woodworking, steelworking, and painting, and an exhibition space showcasing the work produced. The design contrasts old and new—preserving the original structure while adding corten steel elements that echo the site’s past. The facade’s corten panels form a second skin, veiling but not hiding the old building, creating a layered dialogue between memory and modernity. OXIDES reimagines industrial heritage as a dynamic space for creativity and community.
