Viewing Platform in Deštné, Orlické Mountains

A viewing platform is being built on Studený vrch in Deštná v Orlických horách, which takes advantage of the extraordinary views of the Krkonoše and Orlické Mountains. The structure acts like a ring embedded in the ground – a semicircular steel viewing platform floats above the terrain, while the facilities (buffet, toilets, technical spaces) are hidden in a reinforced concrete foundation set into the slope. The diameter of the building is 35 m. A barrier-free ramp offers comfortable access and new spatial panoramas. The structure responds sensitively to the context of the CHKO (Protected Landscape Area) Orlické hory.
