PIAZZA UNDER THE BRIDGE
Annotation
The design of the area beneath the Nusle Bridge in Prague consists of three main components: a marketplace and a kindergarten, which aim to support the locality’s independence, and a public open space on their roof – the so-called piazza. The architecture of the project clearly submits to the dominant feature – the bridge. It strives not to occupy the space with its mass and encourages people to experience a perspectival view through the bridge’s pillars when entering the functions partially embedded in the ground.
