Kačerov Curve

The Kačerov Curve project transforms the current area into a vibrant urban district. Located at a key transport junction where the D1 motorway enters Prague, the site is currently burdened by noise and surrounded by infrastructural barriers. The design aims to heal this urban "scar" by introducing housing, public spaces, civic amenities, and sustainable transport. Central to the concept is the transformation of 5. května Street into an urban boulevard, the tunneling of the South Connection, and new links between surrounding neighborhoods. The urban form is inspired by the arc of the South Connection. The plan promotes pedestrian, cycling, and public transport, creating a district with a clear structure and high-quality environment for both new and existing residents.
