ORTHODOX CHURCH WITH A COMMUNITY CENTER

The design of an Orthodox church with a community center on the outskirts of Milovice responds to the need to create a spiritual and social space for the growing Ukrainian community. The church preserves traditional Orthodox elements in a modern form, with a simple floor plan, verticality, and a combination of natural materials such as exposed concrete, wood and chrome. The community center located next door, although less monumental, plays an equally important role and is complemented by a community garden with flower beds in the middle of the area. The whole complex is closed by a house for the priest, which provides privacy and a peaceful space within the community.
