GATU - GALLERY TURNOV
Annotation
The site is located next to the State Savings Bank building on Český ráj Square in Turnov. In addition to the gallery, the building also houses a café, workshop spaces and a coworking centre.
The building is divided into three parts. The height of the corner towards the square reaches the cornice of the Neo-Renaissance savings bank, while the mass connected to the lower buildings in the side street is only three-storey with the top floor recessed. These two masses are connected by a neck with the reception and an atrium.
An important element of the building is its façade made of copper sheets, which serves as external shading. The pattern of the façade is inspired by the details on the façade of the old savings bank and the rocks found in Český ráj.
