Sechutice - The Horse Courtyard : Between horses and accomodations

Mylene Nguyen, Marie-Amelie Javelle

Annotation

At the heart of the former farm, a new living space is envisioned for both horses and local residents. An outdoor riding arena will allow training in harmony with nature, while a water basin will offer horses a space to relax. This central area will become a place of interaction and passage, where people, animals, and landscape coexist peacefully. The project is based on the careful reuse of on-site materials: aged wood and bricks are selected to rebuild the walls, preserving the site's identity. This ecological approach brings warmth and authenticity, with natural tones, weathered textures, and preserved imperfections, fostering a sensitive connection between the architecture, its inhabitants, and the surrounding landscape.
