Annotation
At the place where the Vltava River forms a wide meander with an island, a city is being created that grows in direct relationship with the landscape. It creates a new centre for the south of the Central Bohemian Region, offers an alternative to congested Prague and exploits the potential of the Slap Dam. The development follows the terrain, responding to natural paths and landmarks. The whole city turns towards the river to make contact with the water as much as possible. Bridges and cable cars connect the three spurs. The compact development gradually loosens towards the countryside and, together with the various public spaces, creates a lively urban environment.
