ČESKÉ BUDĚJOVICE – Area near E.ON

Zanádraží in České Budějovice is currently a fragmented, hard-to-access, and isolated area - characterized by large industrial halls and heavy traffic. There is a lack of cohesion and quality public space between industrial zones and family houses. Yet, it is a strategic location with excellent positioning that has the potential for a new urban character. The revitalization reconnects the original structure into an open and permeable system. New pedestrian and cycling routes overcome traffic barriers and link the neighborhood to the surrounding city. At the heart of the design are public spaces—a central square, community areas, and a linear park along the Dobrovodský creek. It is a thoughtful return of the city to places where, until now, it had no space.
