Monastery on the pilgrimage route

Tomáš Kaleta

Annotation

The proposed monastery, intended for a small group of Benedictine monks, is located in the village of Vilémov, near the castle, the castle preserve and the pond. The monastery is proposed on the site of a dilapidated building formerly used as stables. In front of the monastery there is a small lake, which gives the place a specific atmosphere and creates an impressive space in front of the entrance to the monastery. The monastery is designed for the Benedictine monks to live and work in. The monastery has two floors, which are functionally separated. While the first floor is clad in stone panels to give a massive impression, the second floor is designed in wood. The space has been designed to meet contemporary requirements and to be comfortable for gathering, prayer and spiritual recharge.
