Exhibition of Studio Projects

Annotation

The project responds to the vanished villages around Bílina, which were erased to make way for brown coal mining. On Ovčí vrch, it proposes a scenic trail connecting five lookout towers, each symbolizing one of the lost settlements. The towers are modular timber structures of varying heights, linked by a walkway that winds through the rocky terrain. The aim is to create not only a striking landscape feature with views of the Central Bohemian Uplands, but also a dignified memorial—a monument to places that have disappeared from the map and to the people who once called them home.
