Lapidarium

Annotation
The new Lapidarium of the National Museum is located in an attractive location near Prague Castle on the ruins of the former St. Wenceslas Bastion. The location of the former Baroque fortification determines the character of the place, the lapidarium with historical sculptures follows the historical line and at the same time uses the current material solution in the form of reinforced concrete. In the lapidarium, the viewer can visit 5 typologically different halls, the direction of the tour follows the chronological sequence of individual periods - from the Romanesque style to the 20th century. Entrance is provided both from the south of Prague Castle and also through a passage from the western side from a park. On the roof of the building there is a public terrace with views of Prague.
