The architectural study focuses on designing affordable housing in an urban environment with challenging acoustic conditions, specifically in Papírenská Street, located directly next to a railway line. The aim is to create high-quality, economically accessible, and dignified living for a broad range of residents. The main concept is based on compact housing units that maximize space efficiency without compromising comfort. Each unit includes a metal I-profile loggia, enhancing both structural simplicity and the building’s visual identity. A key element is the use of folding shutters, which offer privacy and function as an acoustic barrier. The project responds to the urgent need for affordable urban housing.
