Conversion of the Holešovice power plant

Jakub Roidt

Annotation

The Holešovice power plant is located in the south-western part of the Bubny-Zatory transformation area in Prague 7. This large brownfield site represents one of the largest development areas in the city. The design itself is based on the symmetry of the main façade of the building, complementing the extension on the site of the demolished part of the hall and thus restoring the axial balance of the building. Complex facilities, such as sanitary facilities, are located in new buildings or built-ins, which allows easy integration of utilities. Parking is designed to include charging stations and wheelchair spaces, and is located underground so as not to disturb the character of the surrounding public spaces.
