The aim of the City of the Future project was to design a self-sufficient, climate-resilient city that could realistically function in the year 2100. Due to the expected rise in sea levels and flooding of coastal areas in the UAE, the city is envisioned deep in the inland desert, where water management, energy efficiency, and cooling systems become essential.
