Exhibition of Studio Projects

Annotation

The collection house is a space of second chances – for people and materials. The project gives new meaning to an abandoned G59 panel house, which is transformed into a combination of a shelter and a community collection yard. This creates a place where social and environmental themes naturally intersect. The newly designed urbanism creates tension between the individual volumes of the building and at the same time defines a new public space – the centerpiece of the entire design is the central workshop, where things and relationships are put into motion again. People in social need find work here and discarded objects find a new life. The original reinforced concrete skeleton and staircase cores are preserved – the new facade cladding reflects the principles of rearrange_reframe_reuse.
