BORDERS OF WARMTH

Annotation

Metro exhaust vents often go unnoticed—just like the overlooked groups of people gathering around them. Metro ventilation is seen as a visual disruption to public space aesthetics, just as homeless people disrupt its social image. In the parks near these vents, various social layers sometimes meet: students looking for a place to sit or people seeking shelter on cold days. The goal of my project is to transform the vent at Malostranské into an accessible and functional space that links technical, social, and aesthetic dimensions. The heat that now escapes unused can serve those who will use it—and vents can become natural places for rest and interpersonal interaction.
