Exhibition of Studio Projects

Annotation

Movement brings us to the very top of Chlum, where we can observe the town and surrounding landscape. But what if the lookout itself became movement? After reaching the top, the visitor continues along a walkway that leads above the treetops. At its end stands a capstan which, when turned, rotates the walkway along a supporting structure. This motion opens not just a single view, but a full fan of perspectives. By turning the walkway, the visitor can aim their attention toward the castle, Bořeň, the town square, or further out to Kaňkov. The walkway is a simple truss structure made of tubular profiles, which also serve as a railing. Wooden planks form the walking surface, leading all the way to the capstan. Thanks to a gear system, you can slowly rotate the walkway to the desired view.
