Light for Bílina

Annotation
‘Why should the lookout tower shine?’
The concept of LIGHT FOR BÍLINA is based on the history of Bílina,
which went through difficult times during communism, whether it was
the division of the town centre by a transport route, the diversion of the river
into a channel or coal mining. The viewpoint would be illuminated for an hour after sunset, creating a light of hope over Bíliná, which locals could look up to and symbolically lift their heads from the ground. It would serve not only as a viewpoint, but also as a symbol of hope.
The viewpoint responds to the excess of industrial debris in the surrounding area with its light wooden beam construction reminiscent of a torch.
