Architecture in Between
Annotation
The diploma seminar focuses on architecture in the in-between and explores the potential of temporary structures as an alternative tool responding to the current housing situation. It addresses minimal residential units that can serve as transitional housing during long waiting periods for building permits or as an alternative in situations of limited housing availability. The work examines small modular buildings in terms of typology, construction, modularity, and technical solutions, with an emphasis on their flexibility, mobility, and ability to be combined into larger systems. The aim is not to replace permanent housing, but to seek architecturally sound temporary solutions capable of responding to the changing needs of individuals and cities.
