Verdigris

Verdigris is a multifunctional building on the corner of Blanická and Slezská streets in Vinohrady. It stands on a land that has been unused for over 80 years. Only the exhalation chimney from the metro A and two-storey offices using 90 % of the land as their parking stands here for now. The building must solve short distances between others; its shape was therefore determined by the plot boundaries and the neighbouring house(s) with windows directly into the plot. The metro chimney is very important; house uses the constant temperature of the air moving there and effectively use it for cooling and heating interior. Use of the classic copper sheeting over the entire facade counts with future weathering, effectively distinguish the house from others and reflects the theme of resilience.
