Annotation

The proposed design of the residential palace is situated within an existing park, on the boundary between an urbanistic 'goulash' and a prefab housing estate in Krásné Březno, a district of Ústí nad Labem. The site is characterized by both vertical and social contrasts. The polygonal mass of the palace is divided by transverse gaps into a total of 12 segments. These gaps are filled with straight staircases and corridors, terminated at both ends by glass walls that maintain the transparency of the gaps. Along the inner perimeter, the palace is emphasized by a raised podium supported by columns.
