Exhibition of Studio Projects
ICE CUBE *support
Annotation
The exhibition space in the atrium is designed for three Iceland projects under the live build studio. Main concept is ‘house in house’, which places autonomous structure – Ice cube, in already existing object. The cube’s shape shows mass of melting ice and directly refers to the Iceland’s landscape and it’s changing form. The construction system works as a support – as an attempt for saving and preserving the crumbling ice mass.
The whole structure is designed from reusable materials – wood, steel and foil. Main element is a modular Shelfium system, made of timber parts that hold the whole design project together. Due to the modular system, the Ice cube can be taken apart and put together in a different space, where it transforms into a new exhibition canvas for other works.
