Exhibition of Studio Projects

Annotation

The exhibition space in the atrium is designed for three Iceland projects under the live build studio. Main concept is ‘house in house’, which places autonomous structure – Ice cube, in already existing object. The cube’s shape shows mass of melting ice and directly refers to the Iceland’s landscape and it’s changing form. The construction system works as a support – as an attempt for saving and preserving the crumbling ice mass. The whole structure is designed from reusable materials – wood, steel and foil. Main element is a modular Shelfium system, made of timber parts that hold the whole design project together. Due to the modular system, the Ice cube can be taken apart and put together in a different space, where it transforms into a new exhibition canvas for other works.
