Housing for Bhutan

The residential building is designed with the aim of uniting the building with the surrounding landscape in Bhutan. For my design I used the vast rice terraces that can be seen in many parts of Bhutan. The project is designed as a four-story residential building divided into 8 equally divided residential units. The apartments are divided by a covered outdoor staircase accessible from the upper part of the building. A big added value of the apartments is the glazed living area with a view of the rich mountainous landscape. The green roof improves the thermal insulation of the building and provides enough retained rainwater, which is used for partial water supply independence.
