GALLERY BOX
Annotation
A slaughterhouse-to-gallery conversion to become a life-exciting impulse for one of Broumov's outskirts. The design aims to adapt a former slaughterhouse into a bustling cultural point in the form of a city gallery, stripping off years' of build-up and additions to let what's most important come through - the art itself.
The concept of white box presentation of art became the idea driving the design process, eventually leading to the creation of two exhibition spaces. While the bigger of the two is thought to become the WHITE BOX, allowing for the exhibition of large-scale art pieces, the other one should serve as a windowless box with walls to display paintings on, hence becoming the BLACK BOX.
