Flybox Filmschool
Annotation
The Flybox Filmschool on Flora compositionally integrates with its 19th-century surroundings. Featuring two buildings, the site includes an open space above a water tank, reminding of traditional courtyards. Constructed with reinforced concrete pillars, the buildings appear to "fly" with cantilevered structures.
The school’s northern section houses common areas like the cafeteria and cinema, while the longer wing accommodates flexible classrooms and offices. The student housing offers four residential floors and communal study rooms on the top.
The ceramic facade of the dormitory was designed to harmonize with the historic environment, while the school’s double facade employs clear and matte glass for a contemporary touch.
