Exhibition of Studio Projects
Primary Art School
Annotation
The shape and cladding of the school were chosen as a reference to Baťa's architecture, but it does not repeat it structurally. I would describe the building as an attempt to deform Baťa's industrial construction and transform it into a civil building. In contrast to the concrete walls, there are colorful elements that differ according to the floor (ground floor – turquoise, first floor – yellow, second floor – orange, third floor – white). The large hall serves as a common space on all floors and is glassed-in, allowing a connection with the surrounding park. The classrooms are separated by walls, but thanks to large windows, they do not create a feeling of confinement during lessons.
