The Edge

Halda Engerth in the northern part of Kladno is a place with an industrial past, which is currently derelict and abandoned. What kind of future does such a place deserve? The aim of the design is to bring playfulness to the place and make it accessible to both children and adults. At the same time, the history of mining activity is respected and depicted through detailed elements. The connection between the wildlife, the town centre and the neighbouring housing estate is also key. Halda becomes a transit point, but also an area that invites people to stop in the landscape, to play and to discover. It creates a space where the rawness of the industrial past meets the return of nature and where everyone, big or small, can find their own adventure.
