The Lapidary’s House

The Lapidary’s House is located in a new residential area near the main square in the town of Turnov. The design of the house is based on respect for the local tradition of gemstone cutting, which is historically closely connected to the town. The architectural concept visually represents the process of how gemstones are formed.The facade features horizontal divisions that refer to the geological layering of rocks. The horizontal lines in the choice of materials resemble contour lines. This motif brings rhythm to the street front.The house is designed for multiple functions, creating an environment where tradition meets the present, craftsmanship meets art, and private life meets public space. It become not only a workplace but also a cultural center.
