Therapeutic community for substance abuse recovery

Annotation
The project stems from an original brief to design a monastery – a place of calm, seclusion, spiritual renewal, and a sense of belonging based on community and mutual support. The aim was to reinterpret this architectural typology and translate its principles into a contemporary context. The result is a center for people recovering from addiction, inspired by the monastic way of life.
The design is both aesthetically and functionally simple and direct, creating a dignified space for a life that returns to fundamental human needs – both physical and emotional. The central space is a dining hall, which also serves as an area for creative activities and group therapy. Everyone deserves a second chance and a safe, supportive environment to regain the strength needed to start again.
