LANDSCAPE OBSERVATORY OF THE SILLENT VALLEY | MA

Anna Mixová

Annotation

The observatory is located on a very specific plot of land, where the built-up area of Roztoky near Prague ends and the protected area of the Silent Valley begins. Ma, which in Japanese means "the space in between," embodies this smooth transition from city to nature. It connects these two worlds while also placing them in a noticeable contrast: the city — an enclosed space oriented inward — versus nature — an airy, sunlit space open to the Silent Valley. A visitor can enter the building from any of the three access paths, pass through it, and continue on their way without significant disruption.
